Pengaruh Kuantitas Minyak Kemiri Sebagai Pelarut Asbuton Terhadap Kinerja CPHMA

Road pavement construction needs in Indonesia continue to increase from time to time along with technological advancement. Recorded asphalt needs in Indonesia for each year are 1.2 million tons and Indonesia has asphalt supply from Buton that can support construction in Indonesia up to 135 years (Department of Public Works, 2006). Buton Asphalt (Asbuton) is an alternative for road pavement construction in Indonesia, therefore this local technology from Indonesia must be developed for mutual progress. The deficiency of asbuton regarding solvent needs, until now remains a constraint in the road material supplier industry. Until now, the solvents commonly used are petroleum-based which are certainly not sustainable. Kemiri oil has potential as a sustainable asbuton mixture solvent because it is vegetable-based. This study aims to determine the effect of the quantity of kemiri oil added to the Cold Paving Hot Mix Asbuton (CPHMA) mixture. It is expected that later kemiri oil will not only be a solvent, but also as a modifier for compounds in asbuton so that it can become a rejuvenator during CPHMA spreading. The results obtained through this study are that the three variations of solvent quantity, namely 10%, 30%, and 40%, provide Marshall parameter values that meet CPHMA regulations.
